Birds of Buxton Heath

Although Buxton Heath is not really regarded as a "birding" site, it does host quite a number of interesting species, including the Nightjar, Woodlark, Snipe, Jack Snipe, Woodcock, Yellowhammer, Whitethroat, Garden Warbler, Blackcap, Goldcrest, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Green Woodpecker, Tawny Owl, and Barn Owl. On reflection, that's not a bad list for a non-birding site !

Mammals of Buxton Heath

Several mammal species have been recorded at the site over the years including Red Deer, Roe Deer, Muntjac, Wood Mice, Stoats, and of course, the species from the BHWG logo, the Red Fox.
